python-pyassimp software package provides 3D model import library (Python bindings), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-pyassimp
python-pyassimp is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-pyassimp package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-pyassimp *
You will get with python-pyassimp package name, version, architecture and description in a table
